David Vanderweide grew up in Houston, Texas, and attended Texas A&M University, where he graduated with High Honors with a bachelor of science in Biology. He obtained his Doctorate of Medicine with Honors and then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine at the Texas Medical Center in Houston.
He has been in the private practice of orthopedic surgery in the League City/Clear Lake/Friendswood/Pearland/Webster area since 1993. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (1995, 2005, 2015). In April 2018, the Governor of the State of Texas appointed Dr. Vanderweide to the Texas Medical Board. Also, since 2018, he has been the Medical Director of the Spine Solutions Center at Houston Physicians' Hospital.
He loves music, photography, fishing (fly preferred), hunting (dove preferred), and traveling. Anything he can do with his wife is better. He is crazy about his kids (or his kids made him crazy) - especially since they're all grown up.
He is active in his community, serving on the Board of Directors of Lighthouse Christian Ministries, and is an Elder at Clear Creek Community Church. He is the Chief of Staff at Houston Physicians' Hospital in Webster, Texas.
